Testimonials

"Becky, you have our most sincere gratitude for working with us through very difficult times, in a foreign country with no where to go…I don't think anyone else could have done a better job than you. Your consul was invaluable, comforting, and very effective.  Without you, our son would not have graduated, and likely lost to us and himself."

"We are the ones who should be thanking you! You have been a huge help. You really know what you are doing and my husband and I both admire you. You are very hands on, available in spite of travel and changes in time zone, and most importantly, you have a true and sincere heart where the kids are concerned. I loved reading your blog about Graduation. It really sums up the way you take a personal interest in the kids and how you see them as more than just a face with a number attached. Your approach and perspective are unique in this day and age!"

"In my humble opinion, any parent who is looking at a boarding school option needs an Educational Consultant. I say this as a parent who once selected a program, sans consultant, with disastrous results. I think that an Educational Consultant is essential when therapeutic needs are thrown in. Becky has already earned her fee, and we still have her for another eight months. We would have never found (these programs) on our own. (Becky has visited both programs.) In both programs, she did a lot of the admissions front work for us. For instance, she discussed our son's case with the admissions director and both agreed that the program was a good fit for our son. In addition to finding the programs for us, Becky facilitated the transition from the wilderness to the therapeutic program. She kept in frequent contact with the his therapist at wilderness and his therapist-to-be at the program. His therapeutic program has a waiting list, but Becky was able to secure an opening for him. That opening was perfectly timed to his transition from wilderness. Becky’s behind-the-scenes work was invisible to us – and I mean invisible in a good way. While our son is in the therapeutic program, Becky will continue to observe his progress in her role as our advocate. It is comforting to have a knowledgeable professional monitoring my child’s program, especially when we will soon be 10,000 miles away from him."

"I just want to say thank you for the difference you have made in our lives. We spoke to you at length on several occasions about boarding schools for girls. Your advice was sound, incredibly insightful, and clear. After listening to every word, we researched 12 schools, and visited about 8. You were absolutely 100% right on target with picking the perfect school for our daughter who will be making application to two schools this fall during her 8th grade year in Rome. Words can not adequately describe the profound difference you made in helping us make this decision; and, one we all feel extraordinarily comfortable."

"I saw your email address on live-lines and wanted to personally thank you, and to let you know I have shared your wisdom with countless Foreign Service families while singing your praises. Hope all is well at your new post, and your talents are being used fully and creatively."

"Thank you again for your helpful insights into boarding schools, and into the whole process of finding a school that fits. I felt a great sense of relief after talking with you; I had been feeling a bit overwhelmed before then, not knowing even where to begin. And thank you for offering to call the schools we are interested in."

"I don’t know if your ears have been burning in recent weeks, but they should be, for I have sung your praises to many and various friends and acquaintances for the invaluable assistance you provided us in locating good schools for (my children)."

"We wanted to drop you a quick note thanking you for organizing the terrific program on college admissions yesterday. (Our daughter) says she learned a lot and that it was very helpful. As competitive as college admissions are these days, we are confident this seminar will give her a leg up. We appreciate your efforts!"

"Given the fact that I started my efforts to secure his admission to the school so late in the day, when the junior class was essentially already filled and all the relevant deadlines were long past, this result is nothing short of miraculous. I owe you a great debt of gratitude for your intervention on our behalf with _______, which made all the difference. I am certain that you can imagine how relieved I am to know that he will be able to receive a superb education in a safe and secure environment."

“Interesting, I would not normally write to ex-teachers about their student’s families, but you are one of those people I know that cares about people in the most remarkable way.”

"But now as I muddle through, it is so wonderful that individuals such as yourself are so responsive. Regardless of the outcome, knowing that (people like you) are on our side means everything. Thanks again for all your help."

"I just wanted to thank you for all the wonderful support you are providing _____ in this difficult time. She and I talk frequently about the boarding school options, and again and again I hear how involved and supportive you have been."

"I dropped the children off at ___________ and I was so very, very pleased. It is truly a perfect school for both children. The counselors are supportive and enthusiastic. The class size is just right and the teachers are quite involved with the children. We could not be more pleased. Given our late need to locate the right school, you miraculously did it."

“She is in seventh heaven, has clearly come fully round to embracing the idea, so that’s a huge relief. My husband and I are convinced this is the right decision for her, so we are very happy and relieved. Thanks again for leading us in this direction!”

"Thank you very much for all your time, research, and advice. I hope I can repay the kindness sometime in the future."

"Thank you very much for all you are doing for us. I appreciate it and am thankful every day that you are who you are, where you are."

"But after all is said and done, I want to thank you for taking the time to listen to my frustrations and to talk things through with me a little. You were very helpful in that regard and I appreciate it very much. When you feel on the outside of things, it’s nice to find a reflective and analytical voice on the other end of an email."

"I just wanted to let you know that our daughter was accepted to ___________ for next fall. She (and we) are thrilled. I never would have heard of this school without your help. So thank you for your assistance."

"At last, someone who cares enough. Thank you so very much for this information; it appears that you have gone out of your way for us and I appreciate it tremendously."

"Thanks for all your help and encouragement in the past. I could not, and would not, be here without it."

"Please allow me to flatter you unabashedly by saying your presentation was at least as good today as it was when I met you at ERC in October. Those who gave me feedback about your presentation said nothing but great things.”

“I just wanted to thank you for all of your help as my wife and I put our list (of bids for posts) together. Schools are our priority and you provided invaluable information and perspective.”

"Many thanks for your kindness, caring, and generous consideration…we are appreciative and no words can truly express our thanks."

"I can’t tell you how relieved I am, and how pleased I am with the change in attitude. This has really been a blessing. Thank you for all your help and support. Your suggestions and counseling really made a big difference."

"Having worked with you, I can say with confidence that you will be a great resource and comfort to expat parents."

"I just wanted to let you know that we are very happy with the way things have turned out, and it would not have been possible without you."

"My wife and I really appreciate the extra steps you made. Since this is my first tour, I did not realize how difficult it is to be away from my family and being alone in a distant post. It impacted my kids more than me and my wife. I am hoping that my next tour will be a better one so my kids can visit me anytime. Thanks again."

"Again it just feels good to have had you as his advisor. It was worth it in every way when I hear him talk - his thoughts, his expression of ideas all that (his school) has done for him." -boarding school parent, summer 2009

"(Your student) has made the President's List here at xxx for his first semester. He had a straight A term! I hope that's a reflection of the fact that he's found a positive environment here and is settling in and enjoying his college experience. But I thought you'd appreciate knowing about his success, since you deserve a bit of the bragging rights as well."

-email from international admissions counselor, December 2009

- mom after a last minute crisis was resolved and her son with learning disabilities found the right boarding school for him, August, 2009

"(Our son) finally decided to (his acceptance to boarding school) some hours ago. We've sent our confirmation to them. I'm happy with his choice and believe that everything happens for the best..My husband and I would like to thank you for all the effort you have put in. It is wonderful knowing you and we really appreciate your wise counsel and your whole-hearted and committed approach. I honestly never thought that (our son) would be actually going to a US school of his choice this very year, considering we were so late in applying. I'm still reeling from how soon this has all happened. He is happy and we are all grateful to you for everything. We are sure that (he) will have an extremely fulfilling and enriching experience at (his new school).

I'll be in touch with you as we proceed towards enrolling him for this September. I hope we will be meet up when we come to the USA.

It was delightful to associate with you - truly!"
