There are many reasons why more and more families
are being separated due to international assignments.
Family separations are never easy. We understand the reasons
for these separations.  Read below to see if you can identify with
a separation scenario.
The assignment is short-term and it is not worth the
struggles of relocation for the family.
The location of the assignment is in a danger or hardship
location, or in a place without a suitable school, making it
undesirable for the family.
Unexpected separations, as with an evacuation due to
danger, or a medical evacuation.
Educational needs of the children.
Career demands of the other spouse.

W
e work with families who find themselves in all of the above scenarios.  Rebecca Grappo also faced a two-year separation
from h
er spouse because of an assignment to a danger post so
s
he understands the challenges to the family, the marriage, the
children, and their educations.
We know that children
react to family
separations and each
child reacts differently.
Despite the reason for
the separation,
educational choices
for your family
members are all
important.

"My wife and I really
appreciate the extra steps
you made. Since this is my
first tour, I did not realize
how difficult it is to be away
from my family and being
alone in a distant post. It
impacted my kids more
than me and my wife. I am
hoping that my next tour
will be a better one so my
kids can visit me anytime.
Thanks again."
